Natural Baby Skin Care: A Way To Stay Chemical Free
For every new parent, keeping your baby’s skin smooth and soft is a high priority. Like any new parent, you probably have concerns about keeping chemicals away from your child. There is a growing awareness that chemicals are harmful to babies and should be avoided as much as possible.
As a result of the growing awareness, natural baby skin care is growing in popularity. Using organic baby products that have no chemicals and all natural ingredients is a good way to keep your baby’s skin smooth, while also protecting it from the everyday chemicals that we are exposed to.
What Natural Baby Skin Care Products To Use
We immediately assume baby oil to be a fine product to use on babies. After all, isn’t it meant specifically for a baby’s skin? Some traditional baby oils are based in petrol, a very bad substance for brand new skin since it is thinner and more vulnerable to the elements than that of your own skin.
Look for natural baby skin care products that are made from natural ingredients. Almond oil, olive oil, and grape seed oil are all gentle options to use on a baby’s skin. Natural baby skin care products don’t need to smell good to do their job, so be sure to avoid any products with a fragrance. Your baby’s natural smell is wonderful already.
Certified organic baby skin care products are also fine to use. It is probably best to use organic products derived from plants since they were not grown with chemicals.
Keeping a baby clean only requires the bare minimum of natural baby skin care products. Products such as a mild cleansing soap, a moisturizer, and a diaper cream are the only things needed in the first year of your baby’s life. Shampoo is not necessary until your baby is a year old.
Baby wipes are a must in that they help with changing diapers, cleaning messes, and overall acting as lifesavers for new parents. You can find baby wipes that are natural baby skin care products free of chemicals. Look for baby wipes with aloe vera, a natural moisturizer that helps to protect skin.
Be sure to keep the products you use to a minimum when you decide to go with natural baby skin care products. Your baby’s skin knows best and needs very little to maintain its healthy traits. If in doubt, consult with a pediatrician about what to use and more importantly what not to use.
